The 40-academic hours training "Port Supervision Inspectors" covers officials of sea and river port administrations, inspectors of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Transport, customs officials, employees of other state control and supervisory bodies, managers and engineers of transport companies and industrial enterprises, whose responsibilities include internal control of the turnover of dangerous goods in the company.

As part of “Port Supervision Inspector” training program, students study various international regulatory documents, in particular, the UN Model Regulations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, the Globally Harmonized System of Hazard Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code), European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterways (ADN), International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS 74), International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL 73/78), International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC) , International Labor Organization Convention № 186 "On labor in maritime navigation". In addition, the Russian regulatory framework applied in the field of inspection of the transportation of dangerous goods is being studied, including the relevant provisions of the Federal Law "On Seaports in the Russian Federation and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation" dated November 08, 2007 № 261-ФЗ and GOST R ISO/IEC 17020-2012 – "Conformity assessment. Requirements for the work of various types of inspection bodies"

Candidates for training must have a higher education, or at the time of training they must be trained in higher education programs. Upon completion of training, graduates of the courses who have successfully passed the exam receive certificates of advanced training of the established form. Graduates with sufficient experience in inspection activities in the field of dangerous goods turnover may, on their personal applications, be nominated for certification at the International Dangerous Goods and Containers Association as dangerous goods inspectors in maritime and inland water transport. The inspector's certificate is valid for 5 years.
