Loading and unloading activities in relation to dangerous goods in road transport
Persons carrying out loading and unloading activities related to dangerous goods in road transport must have the knowledge and practical skills set out in Chapter 1.3 of ADR (Regulations under the Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road).
Their duties include the following:
- planning loading operations with dangerous goods;
- checking the correctness of the classification of dangerous goods being handled, their proper shipping names and the assignment of packing groups;
- checking the good working condition of vehicles and their readiness for the carriage of dangerous goods;
- ensuring that specialized vehicles are approved for the carriage of dangerous goods;
- selecting means of restraint for specific dangerous goods;
- checking the correct application of appropriate markings, danger signs, large danger signs and orange plates on packages, cargo transport units and motor vehicles;
- monitoring the placing of dangerous goods in cargo transport units and their securing;
- control of actions correctness when opening cargo transport units, including fumigated, containing suffocating refrigerants, flexi-tanks;
- loading of dangerous goods on motor vehicles, including specialized ones;
- unloading of dangerous goods from motor vehicles;
- preparation and/or verification of transport documents for dangerous goods and written instructions;
- check of availability and good working order of special equipment of the motor vehicle, which must be on it in accordance with ADR requirements;
- check of availability and operability of standard personal protective equipment at workplaces;
- check of availability and good working order of stationary and portable fire extinguishing equipment;
- check of availability and operability of gas analyzers for monitoring the composition of the atmosphere of the working area;
- prevention of incidents with dangerous goods and elimination of their consequences;
The volume of the training program "Loading and unloading activities in relation to dangerous goods in road transport" is 40 academic hours.
Based on the results of certification in the International Dangerous Goods and Containers Association, graduates receive certificates of advanced training and certificates of ТSpecialist in the field of loading and unloading activities in relation to dangerous goods in road transportУ.
