Mooring operations

This training course is intended for shore-based personnel and ship crews. Its objectives are to prepare specialists to safely perform ship mooring operations in accordance with international and national regulations and recommendations, including the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS-1974), the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 (STCW-78), the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations in Sea and River Ports, approved by Order № 343н of the Russian Ministry of Labor dated June 15, 2020, and the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) guidelines: OCIMF Mooring Equipment Guide, OCIMF Safe Mooring Guide, OCIMF Effective Mooring, and others.
The standard course covers the following key topics:
- Shore and shipboard mooring equipment;
- Mooring operations planning and management;
- Mooring schemes and types of mooring;
- Responsibilities of managers and ratings during mooring operations;
- Organization and management of mooring maneuvers;
- Effective interaction between shore and shipboard crews;
- Basic terminology in Russian and English;
- Occupational safety during mooring operations;
- Providing first aid to victims during mooring operations;
Customized training programs tailored to the specific needs of terminals, vessels, and mooring equipment are developed at the request of companies.
Upon completion of the training, course graduates who successfully pass the exam receive advanced training certificates of the established standard.
